Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF)

Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) is right upon us. With the Opening Party occuring this Sunday, 14 March, next week will be a fabulous week of fashion and festivities.

Although, most of the Runway Shows are now sold out, there is still plenty to do and see. I was still able to purchase a ticket to the Metamorphosis Student Showcase yesterday, which will be on Wednesday eveing, 17 March, so hurry and you might still be able to get a ticket.
Although the Fashion Festival doesn't officially commence until Sunday, 14 March at the Opening Party, there are few fashion events starting a little earlier. The Spirit of the Black Dress Fashion Photography Exhibition opens tomorrow 12 March until 21 March, each day from 12 - 6pm at Georges on Collins, 195 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, free entry.

The exhibition showcases 10 of Australian upcoming and emerging designers. You might even find a few of this year's designs on display.

I've picked up my Volunteer uniform for LMFF this week and received all my briefing material. Unfortunately, due to "paying" work commitments, I've had to reduce my five scheduled shifts down to one. But nevermind, I'll still be part of festival and that's all that matters.

I believe that this is the first year that an entire uniform has been supplied to volunteers, thanks to some fantastic sponsors - Bonds, Superdry Jeans, Dunlop Volleys and Romance Was Born (for design of the t-shirt).

For those who will be in Melbourne, be sure to go and see at least one festival event, workshop, sidewalk show, exhibition, etc, it'll definitely be worth your while.

Dunlop Volley's are a essential item for any streetware collection. The standard white and blue stripe canvas style (circa 1939) would have suited the uniform better IMHO.
