Fashion Literature

My latest reads are these two great books below. Women of Fashion by Valerie Steele and Fashion, Culture, and Identity by Fred Davis. I picked up these two books from the library at uni in order to help me write an essay on gender roles in fashion over the past century and how designers have challenged the ideas surrounding gender roles with their fashion designs. Since I recently went and saw the movie Coco & Igor, I thought I would present my case study on Chanel and her introduction to the women's suit and relaxed sense of style in the 1920s and 30s. I've actually been enjoying reading parts of both books and extended my borrowing so I was able to take out more time to read them thoroughly.
