Guest Post - Designer Shoes Student gets BIG break.

The lovely Jag from Cayenne Red, who also represents Brandsexclusive, asked if she could possibly do a Guest Post on the Miss Bias blog. My response was "Yes, that would be lovely!"

Jag is a member of the digital marketing team at London based SEO Agency Cayenne Red. With many fashion and lifestyle clients, Jag regularly writes about the latest trends and stories in this arena.

Below Jag writes about the very lucky Student Shoes Designer who got her big  break designing for a royal wedding.

"Whether your dream is to become an actress, singer or even a vet or fire-fighter everyone needs a big break – just one person to give them a chance! The same goes for budding artists whose dream is to make designer shoes to die for. Even one of the biggest and best known creators of exquisite designer shoes, Jimmy Choo, paid his dues as a cleaner within a show factory. He was putting himself through college in Hackney at the age of 18 and the pinnacle of his success wasn’t until 1988 when he landed an impressive 8 page spread in Vogue, instantly catapulting him to fame and making his designer shoes the most coveted of the late 80’s. Another of the designer shoes royalty, Manuel "Manolo" Blahnik Rodríguez (better known, of course, as Manolo Blahnik) worked in a Fashion Boutique until he caught a lucky break when he landed a job writing for Italian Vogue and the then editor, Diane Vreeland, asked him to show her his designs. True, not all budding designers had to slug away in cleaning or retail jobs; Christian Louboutin starred in cult movie classics and partied with Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger before taking his designer shoes drawings to Chanel, Maude Frizon and Yves Saint Laurent.

Fame does not come as easy to most of the budding fashionista’s who wish to make their living designing hot designer shoes online or on in retail stores, however one lucky fashion student certainly seems to have landed firmly on her feet within the fashion world already at the tender age of 20.  Becka Hunt has been a student at Leicester's De Montfort University for just a few short years but it would appear that her career in designer shoes is already well underway after her shoe design was chosen to don the feet of none other than Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge!  This mega big break came after winning a competition created to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  The winner was chosen by Kate Middleton herself, so now Becka faces the daunting but amazingly exciting task of making the sketch of her gorgeous designer shoes tangible and ready to adorn the feet of one of the most photographed and admired ladies in the world – talk about a big break!" - Jag Ture, Cayenne Red.
